George was raised in Spokane, Washington and is a 1976 graduate of University High School. After a very successful ten-year career in sales and product management nationally for Parker Hannifin Corporation, George served as Director of Operations for Colorado National Speedway, Chesrown Racing, and Chesrown Automotive Group in Denver, Colorado until his return to the Spokane area in 1999. more...

George was named Senior Vice President of Black Rock Development and President of Black Rock Construction Group and served in this capacity from 1999 until mid 2007. In this role, George was responsible for the day to day leadership and oversight of business activities, and was an officer and director of the numerous other Black Rock entities, including Black Rock Marina, Shooter’s Bar & Grill, Black Rock Utilities, and Black Rock Homeowner’s Association and Design Committee.

In December of 2007, George purchased the assets of Architectural Woodwork and Design, Inc, and started Millwood Manufacturing, LLC in its 14,000 square foot facility. In November of 2008, George purchased the assets of HAR Fine Finishes, creating the Finish Division of Millwood Manufacturing in its 11,000 square foot facility. This division has two finish booths making it one of the largest facilities in the Spokane area. Starting in December of 2007 with 18 employees, Millwood currently employs 23.

George is also very involved in his community and is the President of the Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation. He is also a Trustee for the Inland Northwest Council Boy Scouts of America and Greater Spokane Incorporated. George also served as:

He also volunteers numerous hours raising funds for various other local organizations. His greatest pleasure is to see family, friends, and business associates succeed.

George married his junior high school sweetheart, Tracie, in 1978. They have two children: a son, Brett and a daughter, Jayme; and grandson, Preston. George enjoys spending his downtime with family and friends, as well as riding his Harley, boating and snowmobiling.

Sandie Babbitt, Office Manager

As the office manager, Sandie is the glue that keeps things together. She is a long-time Spokane/Coeur d’Alene resident and brings more than 20 years of experience to her position. She joined Millwood Manufacturing in 2010 and enjoys seeing the pride that the company's employees take in the custom products they create.

Mike Pirolo, Project Manager

Mike has been in the woodworking industry for over 30 years, focusing primarily on the luxury home/high end commercial market. During his career, he has designed, fabricated, installed, and managed millwork projects throughout the western United States, including Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, Seattle, Palm Springs, Anchorage, and Denver.

Mike prides himself in successfully taking a client's vision and turning it into a work of art.

Don Kuntz, Production Manager

Don started woodworking in North Dakota in 1976. He and his family moved to Spokane in 1990 and he has spent the last 16 years continuing to hone his skills as a door and cabinet maker. In addition to his skills as a craftsman, Don is a well-respected manager and leader and trained to repair musical string instruments.

Dave Halsen, Finish Shop Manager

Dave grew up in Seattle Washington and served as a ranger in the US Army before starting a career in sales and management for Caterpillar Machinery. He later established his own heavy equipment sales company, but sold it in 1993 to pursue his true passion, woodworking and finishes. Dave built and operated a large custom pre-finish operation prior to joining Millwood Manufacturing in 2010.

Melissa Devine, Designer

Educated and certified in Residential and Commercial Interior Design, Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to each project. She has been involved in custom woodworking for four years and joined the Millwood Manufacturing team in 2008. She focuses on custom/high end residential projects and has designed interiors in a wide variety of styles.

From ultra contemporary to craftsman, French country, cottage, or rustic lodge, Melissa enjoys incorporating clients’ personalities and style preferences into a room or home.

Amber Ball, Designer / Project Manager

Amber grew up in Spokane and has been around the building trade since childhood. Her father, a custom home builder, inspired her to find a career in the industry. After completing her bachelor degree in interior design at Washington State University, she worked as an interior designer for a local high-end design firm and continued there for eleven years. In 2010, she joined the Millwood team bringing a wealth of interior knowledge and an eye for detail. It is her goal to make the design process exciting, easy, and inspirational for her clients. Her favorite styles include northwest contemporary, arts & crafts, and art nouveau.
